On June 25, 1997 Stephen, Kristie and I left for Italy. The index below will take you to the various pages of
our (almost) daily journals. What I think is really nice is that we are able to annotate the text with actual pictures
taken by our new Olympus D-200L digital camera.
All of the photographs presented in the journal pages have been purposely reduced into a very low resolution
format. While this significantly improves each journal page's download time, the effect is that the
photographs lack detail. Click on individual photographs within the journal pages if you want to
see the high resolution original.

Sadly, I moved away from Trento on January 31, 1998 leaving behind
my many friends. I am now living in Koln,
Germany.

Hi all! I know I haven't updated this page since we left the states. I tried to update it from my laptop but couldn't
get my modem to pulse dial while we were at a hotel. And now we are in our apartment, but there is no phone service
yet. I am hoping to have a phone by July 11. If I can get the modem to pulse dial, then you shall see some of the
great photos and our well written journal entries about our trip thus far. We have been keeping it up to date ever
since we left. So bear with me a few more days. Thanks!
July 15, 1997 -
Hello again! As you can see, still no phone service at home. I promise I will be working this problem very diligently.
I'm will have a phone in at least by the end of the month! But hopefully by next weekend. I have corrected, I think,
the pulse dial problem so once the phone line is hooked up I will be able to dial up into the 'net! Ciao!
July 17, 1997 -
Alright! Things are moving along. I will be at the telecom tomorrow to fill out some paper work and then hopefully
sometime next week, everything will be hooked up and I'll be able to upload the pix and text! Stay tuned!
July 23, 1997 - Weds
Well, no telephone service at the apartment yet. I think we have all the necessary paperwork completed and submitted
with the telecom. It should be just a matter of time now. Hopefully it will be in by the weekend. If not then I'll
update this page next monday to let you know what is up with our phone.
July 28, 1997 - Mon
Okay, called the telecom today. We will have a phone (I have the phone number) but it could take up to 14 days
before it is connected. Unless I find an alternative way of getting my laptop connected to the 'net it's going
to take a while before I can upload the pix/journals. At least now I know it will happen.
