Alexandre Polozoff - Tangiers - Money
Make sure to exchange currency before leaving for Tangiers. The exchange rate you will get in Tangiers is about
25% worse than what you can get in Spain. Additionally, if you try to sell the dihmers in Morocco you will find it difficult to get
exchanges into anything except French francs or Italian lire. Oddly enough, the Lonely Planet guide books I've read recommend getting the money in Morocco.
Also, it is probably helpful to carry some money in another currency. Though we never needed it.
Do NOT expect to find an ATM bank machine in Tangiers. There are none, or at least we saw none in the old part of the city. The more modern side further down may have some but we didn't go that way. ATM machines were available in Casablanca. Though I didn't see any I would suspect there are ATMs in Marakeesh.
