In order to take some pro-active action after the debacle that lead to this past week's hijackings I have released my Proposal for Nationwide Registration based on existing European policies already in place to combat terrorism. More efficient than a national identification card, police registration of all citizens and non-citizens will provide the capability that law enforcement in the United States has been lacking to track terrorists and illegal aliens.

Check out my new IBM paper's section. Springtime has come on us in a big way. It seems our comfortable days of 30-50F weather has turned to 70+ temps. At least it isn't rainy and the wind still helps keep things cool.

Things are going incredibly. A lot of the Trentino crowd, though dispered throughout the world, have come online so we're all keeping in touch via email. Anyone missing out, send me an email and I'll add you to the list.
Oct 4, 2000 Wow, lots has happened since the last update. We had to move from the old digs because the building went condo so the webcam has a much different view now. I was working in the brown building you see in the webcam... just to the right of the Hancock. We're now using AT&T/Covad for our SDSL line.
Dec 6, 1999 We are SDSL now! So you should see better response times and more consistent service!

Weather is very cool now! Check out the Altavista feed from my Webcam page! I'm going to try and get more of my photos up on the net soon. Be sure to check back often!

Oct 21, 1999 Weather is turning colder here in Chicago. And the webcam is going to be fed to an Altavista page soon! I'm still waiting for the launch date to become official.
June 1, 1999 Today the kids, Sandra's dad, Sandra and I headed down to city hall and we (Sandra and me) were married by the judge. Nice funny guy too! We took a quick trip down to Florida for a few days and everyone got their fill of amusement park rides.
May 3, 1999 Replaced the defective Linksys Ethernet card in the laptop and the webcam is back up and running! I'm slowly changing over all my networking gear to Netgear by Bay Networks.
April 27, 1999 Whew. After a long couple of days we finally have our ethernet lan rewired. And, yes, yours truly was hit by the CIH virus on the new computer! Fortunately, I'd only had the computer a couple of days. I'm just wondering if the virus was distrubuted by the vendor... But, it is gone now.
April 22, 1999 I received an email yesterday informing me that I would be Cam of the Day at Cammunity! My first webcam award! I am going to have to start up an awards page soon so I can keep track of them all. Weather has been kinda lousy here lately for the webcam. You can also check out the small thumbnail I've placed in my menu. Cool, eh? Rollerblading is back upon us with at least tolerable weather to do it in. I'm thinking of putting together a page on blading around Chicago. When I have some time, eh?
April 11, 1999 Dave and Chrissy are headed back to Liverpool tomorrow so I haven't had much time to work on the web pages today. Weather's been wet outside too. But I did add some more definition to the webcam menu for the java and non-java versions.

I had some trouble getting webcam32 ftping from behind the firewall but it seems I've stumbled across how to do it this morning so the picture should be stable. I can't say exactly what I did but now it works.

Beautiful day today. I'm going out to do some photography instead of staying in all day.

The webcam is officially back up and running! Isn't that a tremendous view of Chicago? I've been meaning to put it back online but just haven't had the time nor energy. But it is back now! I also had to buy a 50 foot ethernet cable so the laptop could hang out by the window and still make it over to the hub. But as you can see it is running well. Stay tuned in the future as we may see more webcams sprouting up here!

I'm planning on revamping the website a little. Unfortunately I do not seem to have much time to get to this lately. I keep hoping I can fix things up a bit.
