With a large English speaking population living in Cologne there are a number of restaurants, bars and pubs to
give one a taste of home every so often.

Located along the tram lines between Neumarkt and Rudolphplatz Chicago Meat Packers is a meat eaters dream.

Joe Champs

Located along the Hohenring at the Rudolphplatz tram stop. Joe Champs is a nice American bar and restaurant.
All of the wait staff speaks English. The bartenders are friendly and usually from America. Happy hour
on cocktails here is from 1700 to 1900 daily. But you must sit at the bar during happy hour. Prices
during happy hour are only modestly reduced from regular prices. |

Flanagan's Irish Pub
|
|
| [no photo] |
Flanagan's Irish Pub is located in Alter Markt right in the center plaza. This pub opens daily from 17h00
and is open until 03h00. The bar staff is friendly, and generally Irish. Most people in this pub are
in their 20-30s age range. Sometimes you will find either live music (generally Irish folk or rock), a disco
night (there is a dance floor here). Two pool tables and a couple of dart boards for relaxation. Lots
of tv screens around the room too. In cold weather there is a mandatory coat check. The bouncers here
are big too so don't come in here if you're looking for a fight. |

Corkonian's Irish Pub
|
|
 |
The Cork is another Irish Pub right in the Alter Markt center. Across the plaza from Flanagan's. This
is a more laid back pub without the young crowd you find at Flanagan's. The one asset here is a very nice
large television screen. Great for watching sports events on. The barstaff here is friendly and mostly
from around the city of Cork, Ireland. In nice weather there is outdoor seating available. |

Boulevard
|
|
 |
Located a block from the Rudolphplatz or Frisenplatz tram stations on Hohenring. They have indoor and outdoor
seating, weather permitting. Indoors is very plain tables set up. Primarily a cocktail bar. Music
here is okay. The waitstaff is a bit arrogant and a little slow to serving. |

Limericks

An Irish pub. Small bar, not much space to sit here. The wait staff is generally alright. I haven't
been really impressed with this place. You can get your usual fare of Guinness and other drinks here. |
