The language schools in Cologne offer courses in German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Greek, Turkish and a variety of others.  While none are being recommended on this page, I did attend the Inlingua school for my German classes.

Inlingua

Inlingua A fairly large language school in Köln.  Several different languages are offered in all kinds of various combinations (classes, private lessons, certificate courses, etc).  The administrative staff is helpful and friendly.  Most of the teachers I met here were pleasant and easy to learn from.  Many non-Germans I knew attended this school for German lessons.  All the teachers are native tongue speakers in the language they are teaching.  You may have teacher substitutions every once in a while.  But I find that a refreshing change.  Located in Alt Stadt just one block off Schlidergasse (not far from the Gap and Marks & Spencer).

Berlitz

Berlitz A very regimented school if you are familiar with the Berlitz methodology.  The staff here is also very insistent on trying to set up private lessons.  You need to set up an appointment during business hours in order to start a class.  It is unclear what happens at this meeting.  Located on Schlidergasse near the C&A department store.
