Today was Day #2 of the Air show in Chicago. Last night they had a night air show but the lighting was too low to get any decent photos out. Today I took a number of photos. I cropped most of these because most of the photo was cloudy sky and no airplane/helicopter. I hope you enjoy them.
We started our journey in the El train.
You can see there are a number of people here to see this event.
Two Navy Seals fly the American flag from their parachute to start the days festivities. Hands on the heart during the national anthem, please.
Some prop planes from the Lima-Lima acrobatic group. I think they are at http://www.limalima.org/ or http://www.limalima.com I have to test it and find out.
Not too many times will you get a chance to see one of Congress's biggest failures/tax dollar drainers. I don't even think the B1b has seen any real combat action yet.
More Navy Seals parachuting down.
A squadron of F16s, B1b and the C135 tanker.
Same squadron headed the other way.
US Coast Guard rescue helicopter.
Biplanes in formation and trailing smoke.
An F15 strutting it's stuff. This plane is LOUD when he hits the afterburners!
Here he is demonstrating what the F15 looks like when attempting to land on a carrier.
One of my favorite planes when I'm playing one of my computer games. A truely versatile war machine.
An Apache attack helicopter.
Another view of the same chopper.
The C135 tanker ready to fuel some F15s
Couldn't hear the name of this airplane
A large plane, the C130 perhaps?
Getting ready to land!
